She moved to the U.S., where she was required to restart her educational career. Mojgan received an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland and followed that with a degree in dentistry, private dental practice, and a geriatric dentistry research fellowship. Desiring to follow her dream to return to medicine, she received her "second" medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School.
